In the meantime....

So I have a few projects that I will be working on during the month of March...first off a show with Baileyworks, a local messenger bag company that have a yearly art show where 15 artists are each given the same bag and do something arty to it. I had to submit a proposal and i pick up the bag next week! I'll post some in progress pics as them come on my other blog... katievernon.blogspot.com. My "theme" is "Beardy-Works" hahah!

Also, I have to do some work for a print show i'm going to be in at ArtStream in Rochester, NH. This is just 6 prints, but i'm creating some new work for it...it'll be a flower/animal theme...the flowers inspired by Sarah's arrangements (see pic above) at Saipua...very beautiful! So keep looking at the other blog for new things, 10days will just have to be put on pause while i get these projects finished up!

Finally, I am about to post some new work, reasonably-priced ORIGINALS on my etsy page! These should be up by mid-week. Toodles!

bad idea

So frank is back in bloomington for this week at a conference and I made the bad decision of checking out the first season of 24 from the library. so....there probably wont be any posts this week. 

where have i been?!?!

hello all! so 2009 has gotten off to a rocky start. you can read more details about it on frank's and my blog: vernons away! but basically i have been in Bloomington, IN for about 15 days, i'll be here for 5 more and then back to NH and my studio! i'll post some of the sketches ive been doing (get ready for marshmallows!) once i get back, and then back to work! looking forward to it!

ok, so i have a few more sketches for day two, but it's too cold to go to my art room today (we're getting a space heater for the upstairs on thursday). anyhoo, tomorrow I'll have two postings, and it's supposed to be warming up, so hopefully my motivation will come back. (don't worry mom, we'll turn the heat up during christmas!)

Don't worry 10 day of followers...the start of another blog doesnt mean that I am going to start ditching the 10 days of site. This new one...tweetsillustrated.blogspot.com will be updated weekly, not daily. 

So what is this new one all about? well you should go and find out. You'll see that the style is a bit different than what i do on 10 days of, but i hope the feel is still 100% kv. 

I really wanted to play a bit more with text. and i was planning on doing this for a 10 days of run (and still might), but i feel like it is something that could go way beyond 10 days. My plan (to give you all a heads up... especially if you really like what you see), is to make limited prints of these (20 at most), so these will be extra special!

Cafe on the Corner show!

Here are a few pics of the little show I have up at Cafe on the Corner in Dover. Since my pieces have glossy resin on them, it was hard getting a good non-glare, non-flash shot, i think i'll go back when it is bright and sunny out.

Well, remember that little "contest" i had a few weeks ago...where i needed help explaining my art? Thank you to everyone who helped out and submitted a comment or email. 5 Days Off from 10 Days Of

[HELP!/free stuff!]

Ok, so sometimes I am not the greatest with words, especially when it comes to talking about my artistic style. So here's where I need your help. How would you describe my work/style in a few words or sentences? It would be most helpful for me if you look at my website and at[coffee makers] : 1,  [animal hybrids] : 2,4,7,9 and [1-10] : 1,3,4,7 (these are the ones i like).
